Before you can think about it, no, the song isn’t about drugs but rather about high fashion. Richie reveals “It's not about drugs, but about high fashion. We are recording a pop single together. Pam says she wants to sing, but nothing too difficult, so she's just going to sing the word 'high' over and over.” If that’s all she’s going to do, she should have just decided to not do it at all.
