Actors misbehaving…Again.

It is the talk of the town. Irish actor Rhys Meyers was arrested at Dublin airport on Sunday for being “drunk and disorderly”. Best known for his role as English King Henry VIII, the 30 year old was charged with public order offences, and later released on bail.
Being half Irish, I know that we have the reputation for being able to drink like fish, shout the loudest at football matches, and slur our words to sound like another language. I guess that’s true even for the actors. What will his mother think? Surely when you hit a degree of fame you ought to be aware that you really can’t behave like the local yobbo down the street and expect to get away with it? Or perhaps he DID expect to get away with it, because of his fame?
Either way the Golden Globe winning star is expected to appear in a Dublin court next month, no doubt to have his wrists slapped and to be told never to do it again. Naughty boy.
