Madonna has denied that she and hubby Guy Ritchie are getting divorced. In a strongly-worded statement the singer said she and Guy have "no plans to divorce" and insisted rumours of a relationship with US baseball star Alex Rodriguez were not true.

The move came after Guy jetted out to New York on Monday night to be with Madonna.

Her US spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg said in a statement: "Madonna's husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage which does not need saving). There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce."

Rosenberg also denied US reports of a relationship between the singer and New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, explaining that they share the same management.

"Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary. They have met. They know each other and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There's really not anything to comment on beyond that. It's nothing new that people are airing tons of dirty laundry Madonna's way lately – much of it untrue."

Referring to the rapper who recently topped the Billboard charts, Rosenberg joked: "By the way, rumours of Madonna and Lil Wayne are quite exaggerated, as well."

Since his daughter’s getting a new reality show, I guess it’s only fair that Joe Jackson wants to get in on the action too. Janet and Michael’s dad is pitching his own reality show wherein cameras will follow Joe’s life as he tries to get his boys back together one more time. It will also show how he develops new artists for his company Chi-Coast Entertainment and the start of his clothing line called Hayvenhurst – named after the Jackson family estate in Encino, California. Joe says “Being the father of ALL of the Jackson's, it is the father who is putting the Jackson's back together, father knows best.” Whatever he said.

Rihanna was spotted as she followed her main man Chris Brown’s shadow as they bought groceries together at a supermarket in West Hollywood on Thursday. That’s a pretty domestic thing to do for a pair who has repeatedly denied being a couple. They may have not walked directly next to each other but what’s the point when you’re still in the same photo? Chris reportedly said that they are taking their relationship to the next level though. He said “Our relationship is growing. We started off as friends and we’re getting a little bit closer now… But I don’t want to let down all my girlfriends, so all the ladies out there, I still love y’all!” They’re still acting coy.

Celine Dion has been getting slammed for being the heaviest water user in the Palm Beach area – during a drought, no less. But Celine isn’t keeping her mouth shut on the issue as the Canadian singer spoke to the Palm Beach Post that her 6.5 million gallon usage from April 2007 to just this past March was actually due to a broken water main and not because of extensive landscaping on her $12.5 million property as previously reported. She had to shell out $36,000 just on water bills during that time. Her lawyer also commented saying “Barely any landscaping was done during that time. Something went wrong.

Stop me if you’ve already heard this one but DMX has gotten himself arrested. This marks the third time that the rapper has been arrested since May. He was busted in Miami on Tuesday for driving without a valid driver’s license. He got arrested in Arizona on a suspended license just a month ago. You would think he would have learned something. He then got nabbed in Arizona for animal cruelty and felony drug possession charges. If you ask me, they should just put him in jail so we don’t have to keep reading on how many times he’s been arrested in a week.

Uma Thurman is to marry her long term boyfriend Arpad Busson. Stephen Huvane, a representative for the Kill Bill star, said “I can confirm she is engaged.” The actress has been dating the Swiss businessman since last summer and, although he lives in London while she lives in New York, the couple have decided to take the relationship to the next level. After proposing, Busson presented Thurman with a diamond ring, consisting of a large centre stone surrounded by 20 smaller gems. Last night she was showing off the sparkler at Elton John’s exclusive White Tie and Tiara Ball. "It's the most beautiful piece I've ever seen," said a pal who was at the do. "Arki did a wonderful job." A date for the wedding has not been anounced. It will be Thurman's third marriage. She was married to Gary Oldman for two years from 1990 and had two children with second husband Ethan Hawke, with whom she split in 2003. Multi-millionaire Busson has never been married but has two children with his ex, supermodel Elle Macpherson.

Hip hop artist Nate Dogg was arrested around 8:30 AM PT on Monday morning while he was driving on the 405 in LA. Cops says that a woman who said she was Nate’s estranged wife called into 911 freaking out as she was driving. She claimed that Nate was making death threats against her and he was dangerously following her as she drove down the road. The California Highway Patrol stopped them both. After interviewing both parties, the cops arrested the artist for making terrorist threats and driving on a suspended license. Has the rapper gone insane? Why would he want to chase his wife all over the road?

Guy Ritchie is creating his own brand of whisky. The film director, who is married to Madonna, is reportedly aiming to make the most expensive version of the strong spirit ever.

Guy, 39, developed a taste for a particular 33-year-old malt from drinking it at The Punch Bowl, the pubs he owns in the exclusive Mayfair area of London, and hopes to create one that is even better.

A source said: 'He wants his to be the ultimate, exclusive whisky brand. He’s into his country pursuits and only drinks whisky in his pub out of specially-made glasses. Guy loves the idea of coming back in his tweed and deerstalker and sipping his own brand of whisky which is the best in the world.”

At present the most expensive whisky comes from distillers Macallan and costs $40,000 a bottle. The source added: “He plans to top the current high-end prices with his brand. He is confident there are plenty of rich businessmen and rock stars who would pay six figures for the world’s best whisky.”

Janet Jackson is set to star in a new MTV reality show. The 'Together Again’ singer will mentor a group of aspiring singers and dancers in the as-yet-untitled project, which will be filmed before Janet starts her world tour later this year.

A producer for the show said: “It's really about finding who's the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher. And we'll find it from a pool of people who you wouldn't typically find it from. We'll go to YMCAs, church groups, local community centres and try to cast the show.”

It has also been reported the winner of the show may be given the chance to appear in Janet’s world tour, which starts in Vancouver, Canada, on September 10.

Janet recently revealed she would love her brothers to reform the Jackson 5, but is unsure whether she would join them on their rumoured Las Vegas residency. She said: “This is the first I've heard that. I would love for my brothers to get together.”

Janet’s brother Jermaine has previously spoken of his wish to reform the band, saying: “It could be sometime in 2008. Michael will be involved. We feel we have to do it one more time. We owe that to the fans and to the public.”

Justin Timberlake has struggled to adjust his bachelor lifestyle since girlfriend Jessica Biel moved in.

The stunning actress recently began living in Justin's Los Angeles home and the couple are said to have argued over fridge space. A source said: “Justin has been a bachelor for a long time. They are both used to doing things their way and having specific things in the fridge.”

However, the smitten pair have come up with a compromise to avoid any more arguments. The source added: “They've had to re-adjust where the beer, water and peanut butter go to make room for each other's favourite foods.”

Despite the couple living together, Justin's close friend Trace Ayala recently claimed the 'SexyBack' singer will never get married.

When asked if Justin was thinking of marrying Jessica, Ayala said: "I hope so. To be honest, I don't see wedding bells in the future, but I hope so. I really do."

Earlier this month, it was claimed Justin had been shopping for a wedding ring and was planning to pop the question to the 'I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry' actress.

Amy Winehouse was hospitalized after a fainting spell at her home on Monday. Her reps say “Amy was at home this afternoon when she briefly fainted. Fortunately, her manager's assistant was there to stop her falling. She quickly recovered and her father Mitch took her to hospital as a precaution. Doctors are unsure of the cause of the incident and Amy is currently undergoing tests.” Why are they not sure when the whole world knows the answer already? She’s taking in too many drugs that her body, or what’s left of it, can barely handle. Keep her in the hospital for a good long while.

George Michael says the legalisation of same-sex marriage in California is 'fantastic'. The former Wham! singer – who is in a long-term relationship with boyfriend Kenny Goss – is pleased with the new legislation but insists the decision should have happened sooner. He said: “It's way overdue. It's something that happened almost without a whisper in England, but it was basically because we weren't that concerned about the word 'marriage’ But because California is a much more religious society, there are a huge number of people who want their unions to be part of something that they can place in their religion, so marriage is much more important in America. 

Mel B is set to get her revenge on ex-lover Eddie Murphy on her new solo album. The former Spice Girls singer, who has a 14-month-old daughter Angel Iris with the  Beverly Hills Cop' actor, has penned a hate-filled track to vent her frustration at Eddie, who she claims rarely sees Angel.

She said: “The working title on my new song is 'Beverly Hills C**k' because that is what he is. He never bothers with his daughter. I mean, what kind of man is that?”

However, Mel has admitted she may have to tone down the lyrics because Eddie's legal team have asked to hear the song before her LP is released. She added: “His lawyers will be vetting the lyrics closely.”

Eddie dumped Mel while she was pregnant with Angel, and then questioned the paternity of his baby. A DNA test later proved he was the father.

Mel, 33, recently revealed she isn't worried about going it alone and working on her third solo LP.

She said: “I am not scared of having another try. I am working with the best producers ever. I am now 10 tracks in to my new record.”

John Mayer was spotted as he left a medical office in Beverly Hills, California last week with a white paper bag with the description “Experimental Human Growth Hormone – 2x Daily” written on it. I wonder if it has anything to do with a funny report that OK! has on John. A friend of the 30-year old singer says “John is good in bed. Not just good, but sensational. Every girl I know who has slept with John says it was the best sex of their life. I’m not sure what exactly he does in bed, but after girls sleep with him, they’re ruined. When Scott Baio welcomed new daughter Bailey DeLuca to his family last November, he immediately became a doting father. He and then-fiancee Renee Sloan decided to be married in December. But then things looked bad... There’s a new memoir coming out soon about Madonna’s life. The catch is, it’s not an autobiography. The tell-all memoir is actually being written by her brother Christopher Ciccone. He has worked with Madonna before designing and directing her ‘Girlie Show’ tour in 1993 and was also involved in her 1991 documentary ‘Madonna: Truth or Dare’. Unfortunately, the Queen of Pop has nothing to do with the book. Her spokesperson said that Madonna and Christopher are no longer close saying “Madonna has not cooperated with any biography about herself.” It looks like someone is trying to cash in on someone else’s fame.

Remember when Tom and Nicole ended? Well, pull out the hankies again because Ryan and Reese are officially over. Their divorce was finalized in L.A. on Thursday.

No details have been leaked, but both parents wanted to share custody of their children Deacon and Ava. Both have also chosen to move on, it seems. Reese has been paired with Jake Gyllenhaal, while Ryan has been spotted with Abbie Cornish.

Guy Ritchie has been partying in London while his wife Madonna is in America. The film director was drinking whisky into the early hours of Wednesday morning after starting his night out on Tuesday evening.

Despite rumours his marriage is in trouble, Guy was seen smiling and joking at new Whisky Mist bar in the exclusive Mayfair area. The 'Snatch' director reportedly told a friend: "I'm fine. The wife is away at the moment, so I'm on a boys' night out."

A source said: "Guy just wanted to enjoy himself with his friends. He hasn't had time to get out much lately, what with being away with Madonna."

Madonna, who raises three children with Guy, is the US preparing for her forthcoming world tour, which could see her spend long periods away from her family.

Madonna, 49, and Guy, 39, have been married since 2000. He is stepfather to Madonna's daughter Lourdes, 11, and the couple have Rocco, seven and recently adopted David, two.

Britney Spears met Mel Gibson for a guidance session on Tuesday night. The troubled 'Toxic' singer - who was befriended by Mel after her hospitalisation in February - is believed to be seeking advice from the 'Braveheart' actor on how to get her life back on track. Mel, who took Britney on holiday with his family in May, met the mother-of-two at the Beverley Hills' members-only Havana Club at 7pm, where the pair spent two hours talking intently. A source said: “Britney looked pretty in her new Capri jeans a blue blouse, white shoes and a brown bag. She looked like a doll with bright red lipstick. She was very quiet and had a serious look on her face as she walked in to the Havana Club. However, Mel seemed upbeat and smiled as he arrived holding a man bag.” Britney was seen leaving the club at 9pm, while Mel stayed until around 11pm. The 26-year-old singer was first seen in public with Mel when they dined together in California in March. A source at the time revealed: “Mel and his wife Robin clearly saw a woman in crisis and wanted to extend themselves in any way possible. There are no expectations, there is no agenda. It's simply an act of human kindness - one neighbour reaching out to the other.” Mel and Britney used to have homes in the same Malibu neighbourhood.

Warren G adds to the list of artists that have been getting into a lot of trouble these past couple of months. The rapper, whose real name is Warren Griffin III, and a man named Ryan Butler were pulled over for running a red light around 2 AM on Sunday morning in Hollywood. Butler was driving. When cops searched the car, they found enough marijuana to arrest both men for possession of narcotics with intent to sell. If you catch my drift, that’s a lot of pot! Both men posted bail of $20,000 each and were released around 9 AM the same day.

Britney Spears may not be making any music videos of her own lately but she’s doing cameos for other artists’ music video. The recovering starlet and once pop wreck has recorded her cameo for the Pussycat Dolls’ ‘When I Grow Up’ music video. The group filmed dance sequences in Hollywood on Tuesday and Wednesday while Britney shot her scenes at the WB lot in Burbank on Wednesday. A source told Us Weekly “It was carefully planned out. In the scene shot [Wednesday], Britney is driving in a car. They all wave at each other as they are passing in traffic — that is it. It is genius and you will love it! Of course, Britney looks hot and blonde. It is a very short sequence, but [Britney] had a lot of fun with it. [She] really likes the Dolls’ music and when she saw them on the MTV [Movie Awards], she was totally down to do the video.”

Canadian singer Shania Twain is finally speaking out about her husband’s infidelity, which lead to their divorce. The country singer recently released a message to her fans saying “As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life. I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you… I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. Amy Winehouse has been warned for flirting in court.

The troubled singer, who was attending husband Blake Fielder-Civil’s pre-trial hearing for grievous bodily harm (GBH) and attempting to pervert the course of justice, mouthed words to Blake for over an hour before being ordered to stop by officials.

Amy - who was wearing a short blue dress - was clearly seen silently saying 'I love you' and was blowing kisses to her husband. The 24-year-old star played with her hair and a silver chain around her neck and at one point patted the empty seat next to her and mouthed 'come sit here next to me,' to Blake.

When she was told to stop, she stood and declared 'you’re fit' to Blake before walking out of Snaresbrook Crown Court, East London. The hearing continued after she left.

As she left, Amy responded to inquires as to how her husband was looking by saying: 'Gorgeous as f**k, haven’t you seen him?'

Blake denies causing GBH with intent to pub landlord James King, of the White House, Risley Hall, Derbyshire, and a further charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Christina Aguilera hasn’t been shy of being in the spotlight and it looks like she’s starting her son early on it too. The singer’s 5-month old son Max will be making his TV debut in a new ‘Rock the Vote’ campaign ad to motivate youth vote in the upcoming presidential elections. In the ad, Christina sings the song ‘America the Beautiful’ while holding her son who was wrapped in an American flag. Of her son’s participation, Christina told the LA Times “It’s inevitable that he will be subjected to some amount of press… This election in particular is such an exciting and historical one, and so I was proud to have my son and I stand together for such a powerful moment and message in time.”

Donda West’s death after plastic surgery is lighting a fire under lawmakers and physicians to make big changes to protect people who are going under the knife, including a bill named after Kanye’s late mother. The niece of Donda and Kanye’s cousin, Yolanda Anderson, along with California Assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter, introduced a bill into the California legislature that would require patients to receive a full physical exam before surgery. Anderson insists that her aunt was never given a physical before surgery. Other bills inspired by Donda’s death are currently in the state legislatures in Florida and Canada, amongst others.

R Kelly’s trial is getting weird as the days go on. A fan of the singer named Debra Triplett was arrested inside the courthouse on Thursday. Triplett was able to sneak in to the supposedly secure building and then positioned herself next to the elevated bank that the jurors used. As the jurors were walking into the courtroom, the fan girl screamed “Free R Kelly!” numerous times before she was arrested. The judge on the case has reportedly ruled that Triplett was in contempt of court and now faces $50,000 bail and a hearing on June 25th. That’s what you can call a devoted fan.

The guy who was responsible for the boy band phenomenon of the late 90s, Lou Pearlman, just got sentenced to 25 years in the slammer for money laundering and conspiracy among other shady deals. The guy behind the initial fame of the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC pleaded guilty back in March to a long, complicated con game that pumped up his net worth and cheated other people out of millions. The judge gave him the maximum sentence at his last court appearance earlier this week. That should teach him not to mess with taxpayers’ money. Let’s just hope he doesn’t dare to create a boy band in prison.

Will Smith has spent nearly $1 million on a private school that bases some of its education on Scientology.

The 'I Am Legend' actor has funded California's New Village Academy of Calabasas, where the curriculum uses different educational theories including 'Study Technology' – a learning method developed by the bizarre sci-fi cult's late creator L. Ron Hubbard.

Sources also claim at least six members of staff employed at the £6,000-a-year private academy are members of the controversial religion. Although the academy's website doesn't mention Scientology, it does speak about Hubbard.

'Study Technology' is described as: "An educational model developed by L R Hubbard, study technology focuses on three principles. First is the use of 'mass' (manipulatives and hands-on experiences) to foster understanding – children need to see and feel what they are learning about. Second is the attention to the 'gradient', which ensures students master one level before moving on to the next.

"Third is the 'misunderstood word', in which students master word definitions and are taught not to read past words they don't know the meanings of in order to understand completely what they are reading and learning."

Last month, Smith – whose wife Jada Pinkett-Smith is a devout follower of Scientology - denied he was a Scientologist. He said: "You don't have to be Jewish to be a friend of Steven Spielberg. You don't have to be Muslim to be a friend of Muhammad Ali. And you don't have to be a Scientologist to be a friend of Tom Cruise. I am a Christian. I am a student of all religions. And I respect all people and all paths."
