Hollywood hunk George Clooney says he cut tobacco for a living

Cutting tobacco, selling insurance and helping old ladies try on shoes are just some of the jobs George Clooney did before he was a movie star, the Ocean’s Eleven actor has revealed. The Oscar-winner comes clean about his past in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He tells the entertainment bible why he will never complain about being in showbiz. “I cut tobacco for a living in Kentucky – that was hard work,” the 50-year-old says when asked if acting was fun or not. “I sold insurance door to door – that’s hard work. “Acting is not hard work. If you’re lucky enough to be sitting at a table like this, you’ve been very lucky in your life. “Is it hard work? It’s long hours, but nobody wants to hear you complain. “I remember I was selling women’s shoes at a department store, which is a lousy job. It sounds like it’d be great, but it wasn’t elegant shoes. “It was 80-year-old women [saying]: ‘That’s a hammertoe!’ “You’re like: ‘I don’t want to see that!’ “I remember I would hear of famous stars complaining in Hollywood about how hard their life was – I didn’t want to hear that. “So I don’t find it difficult. I find it challenging and sometimes I’m very bad at it, but I don’t find it hard.”

Amy Winehouse’s Family Releases Statement

In light of the news that Amy Winehouse lost her life due to alcohol poisoning and build-up after a drinking binge, the late singer’s family released the following statement: “It is some relief to finally find out what happened to Amy. We understand there was alcohol in her system when she passed away, it is likely a buildup of alcohol in her system over a number of days. The court heard that Amy was battling hard to conquer her problems with alcohol and it is a source of great pain to us that she could not win in time. She had started drinking again that week after a period of abstinence. It underlines how important our work with the Amy Winehouse Foundation is to us, to help as many young people and children as we can in her name. It means a lot to us and from the overwhelming messages of support we have had since Amy died, we know she meant a great deal to people all over the world. We want to thank everyone for that and for their continuing enthusiasm for the Foundation.”

Leighton Meester is a Cheryl Cole Convert

Leighton Meester is apparently a Cheryl Cole fan. The 25-year old actress and sometimes singer recently shared that she’s now a big fan of the British pop star thanks to her “Monte Carlo” co-star Selena Gomez. Leighton said “I love ‘Fight for this Love.’ It’s great, although [Selena and I] would change the words to make us laugh. Over lunch or breakfast, you’d hear us singing things like, ‘You gotta jump, jump, jump, jump, jump for this bread.” Maybe she and Selena could do a parody cover of that song. Maybe they can even have Cheryl do something with them.

Christina Aguilera liked “Moves Like Jagger” from the start

American singer Christina Aguilera said she was impressed by the song "Moves Like Jagger," she sang along with Maroon 5, from the first time she heard it. Christina Aguilera is invited on the latest single of the band Maroon 5 and claims to have known that it will become a hit, since it combines different elements from several decades, informs contactmusic.com. "I liked the song from the start. The song has elements of the '60s and '70s and, however, is unique and present," said Christina Aguilera on MTV. Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, said earlier that although the song is a tribute to Mick Jagger, his dance moves are not as good as those of the Rolling Stones singer. "It was a bold statement and I was worried about it’s daring. It (the song) is not about me, dancing like Jagger, to be honest. It's about everyone who moves like Mick Jagger," said Adam Levine.

Former Lady Gaga DJ Sells Memoir

Lady Gaga’s former DJ, Brendan Sullivan, has sold his memoir “Texts, Drugs & Rock n Roll” to HarperCollins imprint It Books. Sullivan was an up and coming New York City DJ when he met the princess of pop, then a struggling performer, in 2006. The book, which is due out next spring, is described as “a literary memoir about love and heartbreak in the downtown New York music scene during the rise of Lady Gaga.” Sullivan said “My book will include six or seven people who either want to be Gaga or want what Gaga did. Fashion designers, young chefs, kids who are bartending on the weekends to make their dreams come true. The book is about what it's like when you are in that position.”
